The US government mint has announced the release of the official 2009
Presidential $1 Coin Proof Set. 2009 is the 3rd year of US dollars
honoring the Presidents of the United States.
Coins are released in the order in which the presidents served in
Each coin displays an attractive image of the US Statue of Liberty
on the reverse. The obverse shows a head image of the president.
2009 Presidential Dollar coin Proof set features Presidents: William
Henry Harrison, John Tyler, James K. Polk and Zachary Taylor.

What are Proof Presidential Coins?
These United States Mint proof dollar coins are made from coin blanks
that are specially treated and polished. Special polished coin dies are
used to mint the coins. The blanks are then carefully put in mint
presses and each coin is struck at least twice. Striking the
dollars twice results in coins with extra sharp details and beauty. Each
dollar has a mirror-like background, with a frosted look (cameo effect).
